The I See You Awards® is looking for a theme song!  But, not just any theme song!  We’re looking for one that will help represent and grow our brand; one that is unique and grabs the listener’s attention!

 

To help us discover our new one-of-a-kind theme song, we are holding a contest to discover the song that will debut as part of our 5th annual awards ceremony in August 2021.

 

In order to qualify, the song must be the original work of the artist.  Complete rules are provided below:

ONLINE ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

 

The I See You Awards® accepts online entries only.  To enter online, visit our page on FilmFreeway. When you enter online, you can upload your song(s) as mp3s or you can provide a link where our judges can listen to your songs online.

 

ENTRY FEE

 

Entrant may submit as many songs as desired.  The entry fee is $35.00 per song. For example, if you enter one song, the fee is $35.00. If you enter two songs, the fee is $70.00. If you enter three songs, the fee is $105.00, etc. Each time you add a song, you’ll need to add $35.00 to your entry fee.    

 

Entries will be judged not only on the songwriting, but also on the overall delivery/performance of the song. All genres of music are accepted and will be considered.

 

Any song entered cannot be owned in any part by a music publishing company (entrant must own 100% of the publishing rights to the song). 

 

All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but only one name should be designated as the Entrant on your submission.  All songwriters must be listed on the submission.  Please list the full name of the songwriter(s) - do not use initials. Entrant shall, by entering, indemnify and hold the I See You Awards® harmless from and against any claims inconsistent with the foregoing.

 

The I See You Awards® theme song contest is open to all amateur and professional songwriters and anyone regardless of nationality or origin. Employees or subcontractors of the I See You Awards®, its families, subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible to enter. If entrant is under 18 years old, the permission of a parent or guardian is required and must be included with your submission.

 

All entry fees are non-refundable. The I See You Awards® will not be able to provide feedback or a critique to entrants.

 

Any entry materials (CDs, tapes, and videos) submitted will not be returned to the entrant. The I See You Awards® is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, incomplete, or misappropriated entries.

 

The I See You Awards® reserves the right to extend the entry deadline and increase or reduce entry fees for special promotions and/or entry deadline periods. 

 

Entries will be screened by an I See You Awards® listening committee who will select the finalists, and the finalists will be sent to the judges who will select the winners. The judges consist of accomplished music industry professionals, such as recording artists, songwriters and music professors.

 

Songs will be judged equally on melody, composition, originality, lyrics (when applicable) and production value.  Lyrics must be in English.

 

The prize will be awarded to the first name as it appears on the entry form, and division of prize among co-authors is the responsibility of the winner. Entrant agrees to accept the final decision of the I See You Awards® and its judges.

 

ENTRANTS CANNOT BE SIGNED TO OR HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH A MAJOR LABEL RECORD COMPANY

 

Entrants cannot be signed to or have any affiliation with a major label record company (for example, Sony BMG, EMI Group, Universal Music Group, or Warner Music Group or any of their affiliates, subsidiaries or imprints) or have distribution through a major label or its affiliates.

 

Only entrants who are on independent labels, their own label, or no label are eligible to enter.

 

The I See You Awards® theme song contest winner will be announced no later than the end of July 2021*.  The I See You Awards® will post results on its website and will notify entrants by email that results are posted. Entrant is responsible for providing an up-to-date and correct email address to the I See You Awards®.  The I See You Awards® is not responsible for entrant's non-receipt of any I See You Awards® emails for any reason, including but not limited to, server or email malfunctions.

 

*The I See You Awards® will use its best efforts to announce the winner at the designated time, but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays.  The winner will be notified by email or phone.  Winner may be required to sign an affidavit confirming that winner's song is original and he/she holds rights to the song. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period or provision of false information may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Affidavits are subject to verification by the I See You Awards® and its agents. Entry constitutes permission to use winner's name, likeness, and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.

 

There will be no transfer and substitution of prizes.  If winner is unable to accept the prize for any reason, the prize will be forfeited.

 

The winner agrees to release the I See You Awards® and its sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. All federal, state, and local taxes, and customs fees, when applicable, are the sole responsibility of winner.  The I See You Awards® will not pay any winners' taxes or custom's fees.

 

Entrant retains all ownership rights to all submitted song(s). The I See You Awards® will not have any ownership rights to any song(s) submitted.

 

Entrant acknowledges that all songs entered may be distributed to the listening committee and judges who will be selecting the winner, and entrant agrees to release, indemnify, and hold the I See You Awards®, its sponsors, committee and judges harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, relating to participation in the I See You Awards® theme song contest.

 

By entering the I See You Awards® theme song contest, entrant and/or their parents or legal guardian (if such entrant is a minor) agree to accept and be bound by the decisions of the I See You Awards® and its judges, which are final and binding in all matters. Entrant agrees to be bound by all terms of these official I See You Awards® Rules and Regulations as established herein.

 

By entering this contest, entrant acknowledges that if his/her song is selected as the winner, his/her song will become the I See You Awards® theme song.  Entrant also acknowledges that the song will be utilized during I See You Awards® events and activities as described in the prizes outlined below:

 

Prizes for winning the I See You Awards® Theme Song Contest:

 

  • The winning theme song will play during our 5th annual awards ceremony in August 2021 and as part of other promotional activities, such as promotional videos.  The I See You Awards® may also, at its discretion, choose to play the song as part of future promotional activities and special events in subsequent years, as well.  The winning song will be streamed or played on a CD or video (if a video is provided; Blu-ray is the only acceptable video format).

  • A profile on the I See You Awards® website with links on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

 

These rules are governed by Michigan law.  Any disagreements that arise will be settled in District Court in Oakland County, Michigan.
