"Amazing," "First Class" & "Class Act" are How Filmmakers Describe the 6th Annual I See You Awards!

The smiles say it all! This year's affair brought big smiles to the faces of the independent filmmakers and guests who attended the 6th Annual I See You Awards® over the course of our three-day event.

After two years of holding the I See You Awards virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were thrilled to welcome guests back to the Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak.

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, we kicked things off with an all-day film festival. The lineup included a variety of shorts, features, documentaries and more. In other words, there was something for everyone!

Industry Seminar

The film festival was followed by an industry seminar on Friday, August 19, featuring independent filmmaker Michael B. Chait and award-winning screenwriter Kelly Karam.

Guest speakers Kelly Karam and Michael B. Chait (pictured left) discuss Chait's experience bringing his feature film directorial debut, Wolf Hound, to the big screen.

Wolf Hound, a WWII thriller, is being distributed by Lionsgate.

Audience members, right, listen and take notes during the industry seminar, which also featured an opportunity for networking.

Indie filmmaker Tom Henry, standing behind the camera, videotaped the seminar.

Awards Ceremony

This year's black tie, blue carpet awards ceremony is certainly one that will be remembered! Co-hosts Phil Elam and Terri Lee Chandler kicked things off with a special video presentation produced by Erik Steele of Th3 Studio in Utica, Michigan. Then, it was time to hand out the awards! We thought we would post some photos of the occasion, so see below for a glimpse! Yes, we know; it's a pretty big glimpse, but we think it was a pretty big deal!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated the accomplishments of independent filmmakers with us! It was three fun-filled days of film, networking and fun!
