On Sunday, August 27, 2017, independent filmmakers will converge on Detroit for the First Annual I See You Awards®. The I See You Awards® is a one-of-a-kind awards show celebrating the accomplishments of low-budget independent filmmakers.

The films were produced by filmmakers in the metro Detroit area, as well as numerous other cities across the United States and from England and Germany.

The I See You Awards® planning committee is also pleased to announce that award-winning independent film actor Revon Yousif will serve as a co-host. Yousif was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Sterling Heights, a suburb of Detroit. After graduating from Stevenson High School in 2009, Yousif embarked on a career in acting. After landing small roles on big studio films including Scream 4 and LOL, Yousif went on to star in 2101, an independent feature film directed by award-winning director, Kyle Misak. Recently, Yousif took home the Best Performance award for the short film, Amnesia, an entry in the 24-Hour Film Challenge put on by his Alma Mater, Oakland University.

On May 3, 2017, Yousif appeared as a guest star on the hit FOX TV show, Empire, starring alongside none other than leading man Terrence Howard! Back in 2016, Yousif was named one of four finalists out of 6,000 contestants in the nationwide search for FOX’s Next Empire Artist. Aside from the competition, he had auditioned for two different roles for the show before finally getting cast as “Harry”, an R&B singer. To read about Yousif’s experience on the show, click here.
